A 23-year-old Wilson man was killed after driving his car over the center lane of La. 19 and hit a truck. His car caught on fire and he was unable to get out of the vehicle.

Troopers were notified of the crash near La. 19 and La. 955 shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday, Brown said.

Sims was unable to exit the vehicle when it burst into flames, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene by the East Feliciana Parish Coroner's Office, Brown said.

The driver of the truck was treated and released from the hospital. The accident happened in East Feliciana. The police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
