A man was killed in a single car accident near Covington/Bush on La. 40. He was driving eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. He drove off the road and along a ditch.

The victim

then overcorrected to the left, crossed the roadway traveling about 60 feet and exited the other side of the roadway. The truck finally entered the ditch, rotated clockwise and overturned, traveling about 100 feet before coming to rest on the roof, the release states.

He was not wearing a seatbelt and was dead at the scene. The police are investigating but do not believe weather conditions, drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
